Crime Check Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation has supported underprivileged women and children in Tamale with food items to aid fasting and to alleviate hardships of the Coronavirus outbreak.
The food items which was distributed to over 500 beneficiaries in the Tamale North and Central constituencies included 30 maxi bags of sugar and 500 mini bags or rice.
Executive Director of Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Kwarteng said his outfit which is known for its philanthropic gestures in the south of the country decided to extend their intervention to the Northern region because of the suffering of the people especially in this period of global health crisis.
He revealed that their next intervention will be the distribution of face masks and hand sanitisers to help protect the people and control the spread of the corona virus.
In the Tamale North Constituency, NDC Women’s organizer, Mrs. Juliana Bawa spoke to NTV of the intervention by the Crime Check Foundation.
She on behalf of the MP, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini, who invited the NGO to the area, expressed profound appreciation to Mr Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng and his team, saying their gesture will cushion the women to brave the storm of coronavirus.
Dr. Ibrahim Barhama Anyars, NPP parliamentary Candidate for Tamale Central who received the items for onward distribution to underprivileged children in his constituency was grateful to Crime Check Foundation.
He said the intervention was timely as it will help the beneficiaries go through the fasting with renewed strength and hope.
